How I Keep My Mindset Positive When I’m Sick AF

I don’t know about you but whenever I’m sick it’s easy for my mind to go in the direction of…

- feeling like a failure

- wondering what I’m doing with my life

- and just overall having the negativity and blahness creep in.

Well, this past week I have been sick AF and here’s 3 things I have reminded myself of each day to shift my mindset and not allow the negativity to creep in as much:

1. Know that my body, mind, and soul need this temporary forced rest in order to UPLEVEL into the next stage of living.

A year ago I came across a video sharing this concept that really resonated with me…

When you’re sick, you’re spiritually and energetically UPGRADING and ELEVATING.

Just like when you upgrade your iPhone and you can’t use it for a brief amount of time — being sick is the downtime needed to elevate into the new version of yourself.

2. Stop beating myself up for not being as productive as I normally am and view REST and CHILLING OUT as the most productive thing I could be doing at this moment.

Watching Eat, Pray, Love and crying my eyes out while lying in bed IS my top priority.

It is productive. It is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.

3. Know that whatever doubt/negativity I’m thinking right now is not the truth, it’s just the temporary sickness talking.

In an exasperated moment of feeling SO blah the other day — my boyfriend Tom said to me:

“Michelle, this isn’t you — this is the sickness talking.”

Yes — he was right.

Know what is the truth and don’t allow yourself to absorb the sickness talk.

And I hope you feel better soon!
