The First Time I Gave My Number to a Guy, This Happened.
Today I wanted to share a quick story on how eating a caprese sandwich led to me to meeting a hot man on a random Tuesday
(…who would’ve thought caprese sandwiches could be this exciting?! )
Anyway…
A few years ago during my lunch break, I was sitting with two friends outside our office eating lunch.
(…if you’re familiar with Boston, I was right on the Greenway near the North End by the fountains )
About 3 bites into my sandwich, I looked up and saw this VERY attractive man working on the landscaping across the way.
I couldn’t look away, and my friends/coworkers were egging me on to go talk to him.
…or at LEAST give him my number.
At the time, I had never even thought about striking up a conversation randomly in public.
The thought alone freaked me out and made me super nervous.
“…who does that? Seems like something only an actor in a movie would actually do.” —my brain
But after making eye contact for 2 seconds longer than I “should” have on that hot July day…
I decided that it would be a great moment to try something new
I went across the street to grab a napkin and a pen from this gelato shop, wrote my name and number on the napkin, and re-joined my friends on the Greenway.
5 minutes later, we were wrapping up lunch and started walking back towards my office (which happened to be directly on the way to him).
With one hand clutching the napkin, I started to walk directly towards him, as my friends made their way slightly ahead of me.
I was SWEATING.
My heart was RACING.
I didn’t know WHAT he would say or do once I gave him that napkin.
(…tune in to this week’s podcast to find out what actually did happen )
But the thing is…
On the other side of the potential rejection or 30 second awkward moment…
Could be a funny story.
Could be a great date.
Could be the love of your life.
When you become open to meeting people in everyday life…
Life becomes a lot more exciting.
Any time you go to your grocery store, your coffee shop, or anywhere else…
It’s an opportunity to meet someone new.
If this scares the sh*t out of you — know that you are not alone.
It scared the sh*t out of me too.
But the beautiful thing is, no matter how you’re feeling today, you can always build this habit and bring more lightness and opportunity into dating.
In today’s podcast episode, I'm walking you through:
1. My step-by-step process for chatting to that hot guy/gal you see in the grocery store, coffee shop, gym, or anywhere else you go on a regular basis.
2. How to gauge if they’re interested in you.
3. AND how to transition to going on a date with them
If this feels nerve wracking or freaks you out...this is COMPLETELY normal. Along with the process, you’ll also learn how to build this habit and create more confidence so that you can create opportunity to meet more people in person and strike up conversations.
